Path Conditions

The start of this geotour is in the town center of Mühlbach am Hochkönig. Here you crack the first codes. The route continues via the Erzweg (No. 85) to the Arthurhaus, where a special feature awaits all treasure hunters – a night cache. You will find this best with a flashlight. The tour now always follows along the Hochkönig on paths No. 436, 401A into the picturesque Riedingtal with its impressive waterfalls. After a short ascent to the Vier Hütten, the path gently goes uphill and downhill again to the Erichhütte. After a stop at the hut, you follow the path well fortified to the Pichlalm. Now you always walk downhill to the town center of Hinterthal. At the edge of town, you must cross the street to reach the large parking lot at the Hochmaisbahn. From there, an idyllic path leads down the Urslau, before the federal road must be crossed again and the last ascent of this geotour is completed. At the Natrun, the local mountain of Maria Alm, you enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding mountain landscape and crack the last codes you need to solve the puzzle. Once you arrive in the town center of Maria Alm with the solution in hand, you make your way to the Hochkönigkrone to pick up your personal geocoin. The decimal places in the result do not need to be considered – you can open the treasure chest with the first four numbers. The geocoin can be collected at one of the three Hochkönigkrone locations:

  • Maria Alm (N 47° 24.310 W 012° 53.974)
  • Dienten (N 47° 23.143 E 013° 00.764)
  • Mühlbach (N 47° 22.595 E 013° 07.564)
