Hike from Unterberg towards Langegg

From the hiking starting point, it goes steeply uphill to the first rest stop at the herb alp Wastlalm. The destination of the hike, the Grießbachalm, is reached from here in another hour. On the sun terrace of the alp, you can not only enjoy the dreamlike panorama of Hundstein and Schwalbenwand but also the homemade specialties, most of which come from its own farm.

Path Conditions

The starting point for your hike towards Langegg is the district Unterberg, right next to the Aberg and Sonnberg lifts (not operating in summer). There are plenty of parking spaces available here. For this route, you need some strength in your calves as the path No. 445 immediately goes steeply uphill. If you initially prefer the road to the hiking trail, you need to watch for the hiking markings a bit above the Gasthofes Christernreith. Step by step, you continue over the Bärmooshütte (not operated in summer) and shortly afterwards to the herb alp Wastlalm, where culinary highlights await you on one of the cozy terraces with panoramic views. After a good hour of further walking, you reach the Grießbachalm. Here, at 1,550 m above sea level, the view extends to the dreamlike panorama of the Schwalbenwand directly opposite. The way back to the valley leads you over the same hiking route.
