MTB Tour Kronreith Round (Route 2)

Your route starts at the service center in Maria Alm. You ride towards Krallerwinkel, past the Natrunbahn and the three local sports shops, up to the Griesbach bridge. Cross it and then follow the road uphill into the Griesbachwinkel. For 2 km, it continues paved past quaint farms, always with the Steinerne Meer in sight towards Sandten. At the intersection „Liebmannhof“, continue straight on and leave the road onto a gravel forest path. From here, the path steadily climbs. Through light forests, you get closer to the steep rock face of Breithorn and Sommerstein. If you look closely, you can spot the last support of the material cable car to the Riemannhaus. By the way, a great bike & hike tip for experienced alpinists (attention: bike trail ends at Riemannhaus parking lot!). At the junction „Riemannhaus parking lot“ turn left. The steepest section is done! After another 1.5 km of gentle ascent, you meet Route 1 again and reach the highest point of the tour. Take a quick photo with the breathtaking backdrop of the Pinzgauer Grasberge and Hohen Tauern in the background, then it's on to the descent. Past the Gasthof Kronreith back to the starting point of the route.
