From Mitterfeldalm, you continuously follow hiking trail No. 401A/430. It leads you through a charming alpine landscape into the picturesque Riedingtal, where you can admire the distinctive mountain waterfall and the impressive Mandl walls in the background. On your way, you pass the clearly visible natural ski jumps of the former ski jumping center Riedingtal by Sepp “Bubi” Bradl. After this impressive view of the Hochkönig, continue your hike through the mountain pines, cross the alpine pastures of the "Vier Hütten," and finally reach the Birgkar. There awaits your next overnight accommodation, the Mittereggalm, from where you can admire the imposing Hochkönig massif at sunset.

Path Conditions
From Mitterfeldalm, the hiking trail No. 401A/430 leads you through a fascinating mountain landscape to the Arthurhaus and the Schweizerhütte. You will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the majestic Hochkönig massif and the impressive Mandl walls as you cross the Riedingtal with its stunning waterfalls. The Riedingtal not only harbors the beauty of nature but also a rich history as a former center of ski jumping that attracted both national and international stars. The remnants of the former ski jumps still testify to past glories. After this section, you will face an ascent to the alpine pastures of the "Vier Hütten," where you can treat yourself to a well-deserved break. Here, you have the difficult choice between the legendary farmer’s doughnuts by Christl in the Brandstätthütte or the delicious cheese variations by Markus in the Molterauhütte. Strengthened and refreshed, continue your hike along the foot of the imposing Hochkönig. The path through the alpine terrain is technically uncomplicated and leads you through the Birgkar. After a short descent, the inviting Stegmoosalm awaits you for a final stop before you reach your stage destination, the mountain inn Mitteregalm.
