PINZGA HATSCHA Stage 5 (from Maria Alm to Dienten)

PINZGA HATSCHA Stage 5 (from Maria Alm to Dienten)

The Pinzga' Hatscha as a long-distance hiking route can be experienced on foot, by summer cable cars, or by public transport, revealing the hidden treasures of this unique landscape. Large parts of the Pinzga' Hatscha lead through alpine and high-alpine landscapes. For this reason, a plant native to this area, the silver thistle, is the symbol of this long-distance trail. The silver thistle and the Pinzga' Hatscha even share one peculiarity: both can have their pitfalls. Download Pinzga Hatscha Stage 5 route

Path Conditions

From Maria Alm, head towards the pilgrimage church. Take the long-distance hiking route 401 A to the Natrun mountain station. From the summit of Natrun, the forest adventure trail No. 26a leads you to the Jufen guesthouse. Across the alpine pastures, the path gently descends to the Pichlbauer. A small bridge takes you along the Urslau river to Hinterthal. Shortly before the church in the village center, turn right onto route 401 A towards Aueralm and Mußbachalm. Follow the old, almost treeless alpine path uphill to the junction with the ÖAV trail 436. Continue on routes 401 A/436 over trails and through a raised bog to the Pichlalm. Then follow route 68 towards Filzensattel. Once there, cross the Hochkönig federal road and follow the small path uphill to the forest road towards Grünegg - Gabühel. After about 2 km, you will reach junction 52, passing by the Almhäusl snack station. After a few meters, you will already see the village entrance sign of Dienten.
