Path Conditions
You start at the Servicecenter Maria Alm and walk along the access road to the Urslau. Crossing the Hochkönig federal road via the underpass at the stream. Now you follow path 27c – a short, steep ascent leads you past the Friedenskapelle to Hof Briefler. Here you turn right onto the access road to the Gasthof Hinterreit (path no. 446). Then continue along a forest road, through meadows and forest, always following path 446 to Hofer Plattl. From here a footpath awaits you with a first steep ascent to the Schwalbenwand at 2011 m. Afterwards the path runs flat along the ridge to Schönwieskopf, past the Ochsenkopf. Here path 446 ends. You continue on path no. 445 to the Hundstein with the Statzerhaus. The descent takes place on a good forest road via path 445 to the Lohningalm (not managed) and the Griessbachalm. Then a "cart track" leads you to the mountain inn Christernreith and the Eberlalm (not managed). From here it goes along a footpath to the valley station of the Aberg cable car in the Unterberg district. Along an access road you follow the Urslau (on the left side of the stream) and pass the football field to the first bridge. You cross this, then the Hochkönigstraße, and walk towards the church. This leads you back to the starting point at the Servicecenter Maria Alm.
