Path Conditions
Get ready for a winter adventure around Filzensattel! Your hike starts directly at Filzensattel on the groomed forest road that gently leads towards Grünegg Alm. Feel the clear mountain air and enjoy the snowy landscape until, after about 1.5 km, a small path branches off to the right towards Gabühelhütte (path no. 51) and further to Steinbockalm. Before Gabühelhütte, you still cross the ski slope – caution! – allowing you to experience the lively bustle of the skiers up close. You will be warmly welcomed at Gabühelhütte: a cozy stop with regional specialties and views of the surrounding peaks awaits you. Just five minutes on foot away lies the fashionable Steinbockalm with its sunny terrace – ideal for enjoying the winter sun with hot chocolate or punch. The return route takes you a bit back along the ascent path to the junction at the House of Silence. From here, you take path no. 50, which branches off to the right, and then follow path no. 12 to the Grünegg snack station. Here, you can recharge once more and absorb the snowy landscape. This route combines movement, enjoyment, and nature experience – perfect for everyone who wants to fully embrace winter.
