The scenic winter hike starts at the village square in Maria Alm. Across the bridge opposite, next to the Moserwirt guesthouse, you pass the Almerwirt guesthouse to path no. 12 towards Saalfelden. Along the way, you discover the dreamy Gasteg chapel on a small hill – perhaps the Augenbründl, the legendary healing spring, is just bubbling. Then follows a short, somewhat steep climb to Dürnberg on path no. 21b. Along the forest edge, wonderful views open up of the Stone Sea. At the next junction, turn left onto path no. 21c to the Kronreith guesthouse. Here you will find a warm atmosphere: treat yourself to a refreshment on the panoramic terrace and enjoy the breathtaking view of Maria Alm and the surrounding mountain world. After the break, the path leads you through the Grießbachwinkel, past snowy meadows and forests, to the junction with hiking trail 23b. Via path no. 23 you reach the Rohrmoos farm and finally return via the Krallerwinkel to the center of Maria Alm.
