Winter Hiking Schattberg Circular Route

Immediately after the Servicecenter Maria Alm, turn right and walk along the cemetery wall. Let yourself be enchanted by the winter landscape as you pass the house of encounter and the kindergarten. Soon you will reach the charming district of Urchen. Here you have the opportunity to cross the federal road – a small step that leads you into the untouched nature. Follow path no. 11 and hike upstream along the Urslau. Feel the cold, fresh mountain air filling your lungs as you reach the district of Unterberg. Now keep right and follow the Jetzbach to the Bachleitbauern. Here begins the adventure: the path rises slightly, and you pass the idyllic farms Jetzbachbauer and Hangleiten. Now it gets exciting! Feel the strength in your legs and enjoy the peace of the winter nature around you. The snow-covered trees and sparkling ice crystals create a magical atmosphere that amazes you. But that's not all! From here it goes downhill again – enjoy the descent over the Schloßberg back to Maria Alm. Leave everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the impressive winter landscape.
