Start your winter hike at the service center in Maria Alm. From there, go directly right past the Raiffeisenbank while strolling through the lively village. Pass various shops, Hotel Niederreiter, and the valley station of the Natrun cable car. Follow the path along the Krallerbach stream and go straight ahead until you reach the last parking options and the cross-country ski trail entrance. Follow the footpath to the Sommerstein adventure outdoor pool. Here you see the pink signage for winter hiking trails with a hiker and a snowflake, which invites you. Cross the bridge and keep right on the prepared hiking trail that leads you to the other side of the Krallerbach. The path winds through the forest to Rohrmoos and offers you a refreshing, sporty challenge. Upon reaching Rohrmoos, the path joins the access road to the Kraller farm. Here you can enjoy a great view of the Buchauer Scharte. Keep left and hike over the meadows, always following the prepared path and the marked poles. This idyllic part of the hike rewards you with beautiful deep views of Maria Alm and the impressive Steinernes Meer. Once the path leads downhill, you reach Griesbachwinkl street. Follow it to the right and uphill until it leads into the forest and then turns left. Your sporting effort is rewarded when the forest opens again and you reach the panoramic Gasthof Kronreith. After the inn, continue your hike on another prepared path marked with winter hiking trail signs. The path runs almost level through the winter forest and gives you the opportunity to fully enjoy the fresh mountain air and the peace of nature. Shortly before the end of the hike, you reach an open area with an interesting information board about the Almer pilgrimage, giving you insight into the local culture. The last section leads you downhill to the residential area "Almerwirtsfeld." Follow the street downhill in hairpin turns until you reach the center of Maria Alm again and thus the starting point of your sporty winter hike.
