Path Conditions

Pack your backpack, tie your hiking boots, and get ready for your summit storming route! With enough stamina and surefootedness, nothing stands in the way of your adventure. You can go by car or hiking bus to the parking lot or the Erichhütte bus stop – this is the starting point of your hike. The path begins on the wide gravel road No. 432 to Erichhütte. From there, it continues over a gently ascending path (No. 437) through gentle alpine meadows. After about 20 minutes, take the turnoff to Taghaube on the right side. From here, it gets truly mountainous! You first pass through the mountain pine area over a steeper gravel trail with some rocky sections. Then the path leads further up over a scree field. At one point, you have to overcome rocky terrain via an iron stepping aid and a ladder – here, being surefooted is an absolute must! After around 2½ hours, you reach the summit and are rewarded with a breathtaking view. Don't forget to save some strength for the descent, as you will return the same way to the Erichhütte parking lot.
