Ski Tour Taghaube (Taghaube saddle)

Ski Tour Taghaube (Taghaube saddle)

Start your exciting ski tour adventure at the Erichhütte parking lot and strap on your skis! The first part of the route leads you along a scenic forest road, which soon offers you breathtaking views towards Dienten. Keep your eyes open for the impressive Taghaube, which appears at the end of the cirque, as you approach the Erichhütte – even though it is closed in winter, the view is worth it! Once you have reached the Erichhütte, the Taghaube stands majestically before you. The path initially leads gently to the left and then more and more into the middle of the saddle. Here you can expect a calm but still challenging route while you fully enjoy the spectacular scenery all around. Feel the freedom of the mountains and let nature inspire you! For the descent, you have the choice: either take the same path back or choose an alternative route that leads to new discoveries. Watch out for the approximately 5-meter deep trench in the terrain, but no worries! Above the Erichhütte, you can cross it easily as it flattens out a bit here. The rest of the descent you can comfortably manage along the road back to the parking lot. This route is easy in terms of orientation, but the impressive views and the sporting challenge make it an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss! Get ready for a spectacular adventure to the Taghaube saddle – the mountains are calling you!

Path Conditions

Park at the Erichhütte parking lot. Note that the Erichhütte is closed in winter. Start your route by following the Güterweg to the Erichhütte. This path leads you into a beautiful winter landscape. After a while, you will change direction and head towards the northeast. Make sure to aim for the clearly visible saddle between Grandlspitz and Taghaube. Be aware that the steepness of the route increases in the upper section and can reach up to 35°. Watch your pace and your technique. If you are out in classic spring conditions, be cautious as the upper part of the route lies long in shadow. The conditions can therefore be challenging. Since the steepness and conditions can be demanding, I recommend you take crampons with you. These can help you to manage the ascents more safely. When you reach the saddle, take a moment to enjoy the breathtaking view. Have fun on your ski tour and stay safe!
