Path Conditions
The route starts next to Scheppalalm. A board with the route description marks the entrance. After passing a turnstile, the path leads uphill through a forest with views of the ski slope. A little later, the path turns left and becomes flatter. Here, you should enjoy the tranquility of the forest and gather strength for the next ascent, which passes a hunting hut. The wide path leads to the ski slope, where we turn right and follow the ski run slightly downhill to Zapferlalm. The ascent trail turns left and leads uphill behind the valley station of the Kings Cab lift. We enjoy the beautiful nature away from the slopes and continue following the prepared path uphill until we cross the ski touring ascent trail coming from Dientner Sattel. We then follow this route, which runs below the gondola, uphill for a while until we reach the destination of today’s route, the mountain station of the Kings Cab lift. Upon arrival, we enjoy the magnificent view of the Hochkönig massif and the surrounding snowy mountain world before descending via the well-prepared slopes 4a and 1a back to the starting point. The entire ascent trail is prepared and marked, and can be used daily between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. A ticket is required for use (non-transferable). Day, week, and season ski passes are valid. All tickets must be validated at the reader; tickets can be purchased at the machine or the cashier.
