PINZGA HATSCHA Stage 8 (from Dienten to Statzerhaus)

PINZGA HATSCHA Stage 8 (from Dienten to Statzerhaus)

The Pinzga' Hatscha as a long-distance hiking trail can be experienced on foot, with summer lifts, or public transportation and reveals the hidden treasures of this unique landscape. Large parts of the Pinzga' Hatscha lead through alpine and high alpine landscapes. For this reason, a plant native exactly there, the silver thistle, is the symbol of this long-distance trail. The silver thistle and the Pinzga' Hatscha even have one thing in common: both can be tricky.

Path Conditions

Starting between the Hotel Hochkönig and the parsonage, you follow the ÖAV trail 440 first to the height of the Kirchbühel. You cross the forest road, continue through the forest, and reach the Sommereralm (not managed). A wide alpine path runs along the forest edge to a fork in the road. Keep left and reach the Lettenalm (not managed). Follow path number 440 slightly uphill to the "Mühllehen Gate." At the fork, take path number 14a westward. Continue along the ridge to the saddle, where the path merges back into ÖAV trail no. 440. You pass by the Ochsinger and Hundstein lakes. After the lakes, there is a somewhat steeper climb towards Hundstein, which leads to access path no. 445 to Statzerhaus. The highest point of the day, Hundstein (2117 m), is now reached in a few minutes.
