Bike & Hike Pichlalm-Lausköpfe HIKING PART

The hiking part of the Bike & Hike route takes you after the bike route to the Pichlalm on foot to the Lausköpfe and back to the Pichlalm. The hike from the Pichlalm to the Lausköpfe is a scenic and varied mountain trail. From the idyllic alpine pasture of the Pichlalm the path gently ascends over alpine meadows before winding through steeper terrain towards the ridge. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. The Lausköpfe themselves are peaceful summit destinations with wonderful distant views – ideal for an enjoyable rest. Surefootedness is a must for this hike, as the last section passes through rocky terrain.

Path Conditions

From the Pichlalm the path number 436 A leads across gentle alpine pastures to the so-called Kaserboden. Only then does it get exciting for mountain fans, as the path through the dwarf pines becomes steeper and rockier. Eventually you reach the first Lauskopf (weather station). The goal of the tour is the second Lauskopf, because a summit victory without a summit cross – and that is only on the 2nd Lauskopf – is only half a success. Before going back down the same way, rest first and enjoy the magnificent view of the Radstadt Tauern, the High Tauern, the Stone Sea, and the Leogang Limestone Mountains. On the descent, the Pichlalm invites you to a cozy conclusion to the tour with a traditional alpine snack before you ride back down with your bike.
