Bike & Hike Bürglalmbahn-Ahornstein PART HIKING
The second part of the Bike & Hike route begins after the bike tour to the Bürglalmbahn with the hike to the Ahornstein. The Ahornstein, at 1,855 m, is the highest peak of the Dienten grass mountains. From up there you can see the High Tauern, the Hochkönig massif and the Loferer Steinberge. From the Bürglalmbahn the route goes via the forest path to the first peak of our hike - the Wastlhöhe at 1,737 m. From the viewpoint (with photo point) it continues over meadow paths to the destination and at the same time the highest point of our hike.

Path Conditions
A wide forest path (No. 63) leads gently uphill to the Wastlhöhe, a wonderful photo viewpoint. From here the path No. 15 becomes a bit narrower and leads over meadows and through the forest to the destination of our hike, the Ahornstein. We enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the mountain world of the Dachstein, the Lower and High Tauern up to the Großvenediger, before the hike leads us back via the same path to the Bürglalm where we can refresh with an herbal and wild snack.
