Winter hiking Hinterreit circular route

From the service center you go to the entrance of the village of Maria Alm and cross the Hochkönig federal road. To safely reach the other side of the road, use the underpass. Now the path leads you to the Schloßberg. At the junction above the Burgstall, take the path to the right, and a somewhat steeper road leads you up to the Gasthof Hinterreit. Once there, fortify yourself with a hearty Kaspressknödel soup before continuing. Perhaps you are lucky and a known ski star is preparing for his events in the ski world cup near the Hinterreit lifts. After the descent to the road, turn left and follow the road towards Saalfelden, until you reach the Almdorf. Here you cross the Hochkönig federal road again and hike up the Urslau past the golf course. Soon you will have reached your starting point, the town center of Maria Alm again.
