Path Conditions
Start your walk in front of the tourism office and follow the street to the left until you reach the Sparkasse. Here, turn right towards the church. On the way, you pass the war memorial as well as the Sepp-Bradl memorial.
The parish church is dedicated to St. Sebastian, who is revered in the region as the patron saint of health. Opposite are the Anderlwirt inn and the parsonage. Between the two buildings, a narrow alley leads past Villa Crammer and an impressive old copper beech tree to the former warehouse.
Now cross the “old Mitterbergstraße” – formerly the first road connection to Arthurhaus – and follow the alley along the Schrammbach to the municipal office and the senior citizens' residence. Here turn left towards the main street.
After crossing the pedestrian crossing, continue over the nearby bridge. Here, the village mill, the Kneipp basin, and a playground invite you to take a short break. Then follow the path downstream to the town center and cross the bridge again near the Spar supermarket.
Back at the main street, cross it and turn right at the Alpenrose hotel. Walk further on the sidewalk to the Amberg house, where you turn left and stroll up the small hill. At the intersection, keep sharply to the right and walk to the Knappenheim, which today houses the mining museum. Until 1977, copper mining was active in Mühlbach; many celebrations, including the Barbara festival, used to take place in the Knappenheim.
The return path leads you downhill, past the church, to the main street. Turn left and return to the tourism office – your starting point.
