From the Sandten parking lot a steep forest road leads up to the material cable car. From here the alpine path begins through rocky terrain (surefootedness and a head for heights required!) to the Riemannhaus at 2,177 m. From there it continues to the Breithorn at 2,504 m, which takes another approx. 1.5 hours of walking time. First over rocky steps and slabs to a plateau, then over coarse scree and slippery sandy paths, partially secured by rock steps, up to the summit. The descent is the same as the ascent. Overnight accommodation is available at the Riemannhaus (reservation necessary).

Path Conditions
Start at the Sandten parking lot and follow path no. 401A, which leads to the access road of the cable car. After about 3 hours you will reach the Riemannhaus at 2,177 m. The further ascent to the Breithorn at 2,504 m takes about 1.5 hours. Make sure you have surefootedness and a head for heights, as the alpine path can be demanding. For the descent, take the same route as for the ascent.
