Path Conditions
After a short descent via the marked path No. 432, you reach the Hochkönig federal road B164. From there, walk a short way uphill to Dientner Sattel. At this point, turn left and follow the picturesque hiking trail No. 75, which initially leads you past the idyllic Dientalm. The path continues with a more challenging ascent to Tiergartenalm, where you can enjoy the impressive landscape. The wide cart track gradually flattens and takes you further to the Klingelbergalm. After crossing a small stream behind the alpine hut, the ascent to the imposing Schneeberg summit begins. Hiking trail No. 15 winds partly steeper through the forest and over alpine pastures, past the St. Veiter Schneeberg and finally to the Mühlbacher Schneeberg. After exploring the summit area and maybe taking the obligatory summit photo, the descent follows via path No. 15 to the Karbachalm. There you can refresh yourself with a cozy stopover and continue to enjoy the impressive natural scenery. If you want to hike further down to the valley, follow the steep downhill hiking trail No. 15 to the valley station of the Karbachalmbahn. Alternatively, you can choose the comfortable way and take the Karbachalmbahn down to the valley. For the return to the village, the hiking bus is available. If you do not feel like a summit crossing today, the alternative is: From the Dientalm follow path No. 77 towards Mühlbach. At the next junction, take path No. 78, which leads you through the picturesque high moor at Dientner Sattel. The path finally leads onto a cart track that gently takes you downhill to the Scheppalalm and further to the valley station of the Karbachalmbahn. This way, you can experience the impressive mountain landscape even without a summit crossing.
