The circular hike, which starts from Maria Alm, is perfectly suited for you as a small morning or afternoon hike. The nicely located Hinterreit mountain inn offers you a great view of the Steinernes Meer and the surrounding grassy mountains and invites you to stop for refreshments. On your hike, you will also pass the Peace Chapel, which is really worth seeing due to its extraordinary location.

Path Conditions
You start your hike at the Maria Alm service center. Follow the village street towards the town entrance and keep right there. Shortly after the Krone at the town entrance, you go through a road underpass and come out again at Schlossberg. Follow the road until, after about 100 m, you turn right into the forest and hike via path no. 27c to the Peace Chapel. From the Peace Chapel, continue to the Hinterreit mountain inn. From Hinterreit, walk towards Saalfelden until you reach the alpine village. Cross the federal road there and go left along the Urslau on path no. 11. At the end of path no. 11, turn left, walk along the road past the Golfstüberl and follow path no. 12 (Gasteg) back to Maria Alm. On the way back, you can admire the Gasteg Chapel.
