The alpine and hut hike leads from Filzensattel (Hochmaisalm parking lot) via Hochmaisalm to the Steinbockalm and then back to Filzensattel via a leisurely forest path and subsequently a forest road.

Path Conditions
You either get off the hiking bus at Filzensattel or, if you arrive by car, park your car at the Hochmaisalm parking lot (below the Filzensattel parking lot). From there, follow forest road no. 34 to Hochmaisalm. From Hochmaisalm, continue on path no. 35 to the Steinbockalm. Via paths 51/51a and 50, you return to Filzensattel. There, turn left and follow the federal road for about 200 m back to the Hochmaisalm parking lot. Alternatively, you can also return via the ascent path.
