Upon exiting the mountain station, turn left and follow the narrow forest path Trail No. 15 uphill. At the Mühlbacher Skiclubhütte, the forest opens up to reveal a stunning view of a mountain basin, dominated by the first summit cross of the day. From the top station of the Fellersbach lift (not in operation during summer), the path becomes steeper and rockier for the final ascent to the Schneeberg summit. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the entire Hochkönig massif, with your next destination, the St. Veiter Schneeberg, already in sight. Only about a 15-minute walk separates the two peaks.

The route continues as Trail No. 15 leads you somewhat steeply down from the St. Veiter Schneeberg along the mountain ridge. At the next junction, take Trail No. 75, which winds through alpine pastures to the Klingelbergalm—an optional spot for a quick refreshment. Just fifteen minutes later, you will reach the Tiergartenalm, a certified herb farm where you can indulge in exquisite herbal cuisine.

The descent to the Dientner Sattel and the Dientalm follows the forest road (No. 75), offering repeated, magnificent views of the Hochkönig. Once you arrive at the Dientalm herb farm, be sure to check out the selection of homemade cheese specialties; a tasting is highly recommended! Alternatively, let the hosts spoil you with their lovingly prepared herbal delicacies. For your return to Mühlbach, simply hop on the hiking bus—the stop is conveniently located just around the corner from the hut.
