Day 1: From Maria Alm to Dienten

25.32 kilometres | 930 metres of elevation gain | approx. 2 hours 50 minutes

The first stage starts in the centre of Maria Alm. Ride to the valley station of the Natrunbahn and take the gondola up to the mountain station. The first checkpoint is located there.

From the mountain station, follow the signposted route towards Prinzensee. Continue via the Jufen Rosa Trail, an easy gravel path, to reach the Jufenalm.

From the Jufenalm, the route descends along the winter toboggan run. In the lower section, continue briefly towards Krallerwinkel, then turn right towards Primbach. Follow the signs for route MA08.

Ride uphill on asphalt and forest roads to the Primbachsattel. Alternatively, you can take the Wawi Trail. A checkpoint is located at the saddle.

A winding gravel trail then leads downhill to Hinterthal, where the next checkpoint awaits.

From Hinterthal, continue towards the Aueralm. After a short stream crossing with around 25 metres of pushing, you reach the B164. Follow the road uphill to the Filzensattel.

At the Filzensattel, turn right onto Grüneggweg. The descent leads past the Grüneggalm and into the centre of Dienten.

Day 2: From Dienten to Mühlbach

40.15 kilometres | 1,500 metres of elevation gain | approx. 4 hours 30 minutes

Start in the centre of Dienten and ride to the ski centre.

There are two options for the first ascent:

By mountain lift

Take the Bürglalm chairlift up to the Bürglalm. Check the current operating times and bicycle transport conditions in advance.

By bike

Ride through the car park at the ski centre and follow the signs for the DI04 Bürglalm Loop. The easy to ride forest road leads up to the Bürglalm.

Approximately 200 metres after the mountain station, turn left onto the natural Nani and Mariedl Trails. The lower section of the Mariedl Trail is rated S2 and requires confident bike handling skills.

To avoid this section, you can switch to the forest road near the Zachhofalm.

After the descent, you reach the B164. Turn right and follow the road to the Dientner Sattel. Then continue downhill past the Dientalm and Zapferlalm towards Mühlbach.

Shortly before the centre of Mühlbach, turn left and follow the signs for the MB01 Hochkeil Loop.

The route leads uphill on asphalt and gravel roads to the Arthurhaus, where you will find a checkpoint. Afterwards, follow the signposted route back down to the centre of Mühlbach.

Day 3: From Mühlbach to Maria Alm

35.02 kilometres | 1,520 metres of elevation gain | approx. 4 hours 10 minutes

Start in the centre of Mühlbach and ride to the valley station of the Karbachalmbahn. The Medium Route is completed entirely under your own power.

Follow the signposted route uphill, passing the Scheppal Alm and continuing towards the Tiergartenalm. The long ascent takes you up to the Wastlhöhe, where you will find a checkpoint.

The Bürglalm Mitzi Trail begins at the Wastlhöhe. The descent is approximately five kilometres long and covers around 640 metres of elevation. The trail includes flowing sections as well as more technically demanding passages.

After the trail, turn right towards Dienten. At the Grünegg junction, keep left and continue uphill.

The route passes the Grüneggalm before following a gravel forest road to the Filzensattel.

At the Filzensattel, ride a short distance along the B164. At the first prominent left hand bend, make a sharp right turn just after the hairpin onto the old Filzenweg. This route leads downhill to Hinterthal.

In Hinterthal, join the Primbach Tour MA09. Follow the signs towards the Primbachsattel and Maria Alm.

For the descent, you can choose between the Wawi Trail and the Traudi Trail. Select only the option that matches your riding ability and the current trail conditions.

The route then leads back to the centre of Maria Alm, where the final checkpoint awaits.
