Tour description

Day 1: From Maria Alm to Dienten
25.32 kilometres | 930 metres of elevation gain | approx. 2 hours 35 minutes
The first stage begins in the centre of Maria Alm at the valley station of the Natrunbahn. Take the gondola up to the mountain station on the Natrun, where you will find the first checkpoint.
From the mountain station, follow the signposted route towards Prinzensee. The Jufen Rosa Trail, an easy gravel path, then continues to the Jufenalm. From there, descend via the winter toboggan run.
In the lower section, briefly follow the route towards Krallerwinkel. Then turn right towards Primbach and follow the MA08 signs.
The route climbs first on an asphalt road and then on a well-surfaced forest road to the Primbachsattel. Alternatively, you can take the Wawi Trail, which can be ridden in both directions. The next checkpoint is located at the Primbachsattel.
After a short North Shore element, a winding gravel trail descends to Hinterthal. You will find another checkpoint in the village.
From Hinterthal, continue towards the Aueralm. After the alpine hut, you will reach a stream crossing where you need to push your bike for approximately 25 metres. Around 500 metres later, you will reach the B164 Hochkönig road.
Follow the B164 uphill to the Filzensattel. Turn right onto Grüneggweg. The following descent takes you past the Grüneggalm and down to Dienten. The stage finish and checkpoint are located in the village centre.
