Day 1: From Maria Alm via Dienten to Mühlbach

53.50 kilometres | 1,910 metres of elevation gain | approx. 5 hours 40 minutes

The Big Tour starts in the centre of Maria Alm. Ride to the valley station of the Natrunbahn and take the gondola up to the mountain station. The first checkpoint is located there.

From the mountain station, the route leads towards Prinzensee. Then follow the Jufen Rosa Trail to the Jufenalm.

Descend via the winter toboggan run. In the lower section, first continue towards Krallerwinkel, then turn right towards Primbach. Follow the signs for route MA08.

The route climbs on asphalt and forest roads to the Primbachsattel. For a more challenging alternative, you can take the Wawi Trail. A checkpoint is located at the saddle.

A winding gravel trail then leads to Hinterthal, where another checkpoint awaits in the village centre.

From Hinterthal, follow the route towards the Aueralm. After crossing a stream and a short section where you need to push your bike, you reach the B164. Follow the road to the Filzensattel.

At the Filzensattel, turn right onto Grüneggweg. Above the Grüneggalm, follow the Bergbauernhofrunde number 6.

After crossing the L216 regional road, continue towards the Schwarzenbachtalrunde. The route leads past the Moosalm and uphill to the Sulzbühel.

At the Sulzbühel, join the connecting route to the Wastlhöhe, where the next checkpoint is located.

Then continue towards the Nani and Mariedl Trails. These natural trails are rated S2. To avoid the trails, you can switch to the parallel forest road in good time.

After the trail descent, turn right onto the B164 and follow it to the Dientner Sattel. From there, ride downhill past the Dientalm and Zapferlalm to Mühlbach.

The final checkpoint of the day awaits in the centre of Mühlbach.
